A healthy diet is based on good understanding of basic principles of nutrition.
This does not mean going on a diet, but simply being more aware of what you are eating and when you are eating it. In fact, most dietary imbalances are caused by wrong distribution throughout the day, associated with incorrect ratio of proteins, sugars and fats.
A healthy diet demands intake lots of fruits, vegetables, cereal and pastas and close control of intake of fats, sugars, eggs, cheeses and other dairy products, meat and its products. It is equally important to take care about hydration, as well. It is necessary to take liquids before, during and after physical activity. Do not wait until you are thirsty before drinking - you only feel thirsty after having already lost many body fluids.
